A railway station is the main object of railway transport, a point that has track development and allows operations for receiving, sending, crossing and overtaking trains, operations for receiving, issuing cargo, baggage and cargo baggage and passenger service, and with developed track devices — shunting work on the formation and disbandment of trains and technical operations with trains.

Some railway stations accept electric trains, some - reload coal from wagons to othersvehicles. The station has a list of open paragraphs that mean that the functions specified in it are carried out at the station and operations with a certain rolling stock (wagons, containers) or type of cargo are allowed.

There are also restrictions for passengers related to the turnover of tickets or luggage. The paragraph opens both for the station and for the consignees located on the branch of the station. At the same time, the consignees cannot have a broader list of paragraphs than the station itself.

This table shows that containers can be sent to stations where paragraphs 5, 6, 8, 8h, 10, 10h are open. But due to the fact that, since 2010, containers with a capacity of 3 and 5 tons have been removed from circulation by rail, paragraphs 5, 6 do not apply. Containers (3.5 tons) are no longer transported by rail in Russia!
  • Only 20' and 40' containers are transported by the railway of the Russian Federation. Therefore, it is possible to send the container only at the station with paragraphs 8, 8h, 10, 10h.
  • Paragraph 8 allows you to send a 20' container to the station and the consignee can come and pick it upcargofrom the container right at the station.
  • Paragraph 8h implies that the container is sent to "private" access roads, for example, on the way of a factory or a private company, and you can pick up the cargo from the container only by paying for the services of this company.
  • Paragraphs 10 and 10h work on the same principle, only with respect to 40' containers.
