– If the system refused auto-registration and release due to errors made by the declarant, the inspector processes the declaration manually, – says Elena Golikova, Chief State Customs Inspector of Sakhalin Customs. – It can take from five hours to several days, while sometimes a minute and a half is enough for auto-registration and auto-release.

Among the mistakes that declarants make is the discrepancy between the data on shipping documents contained in the declaration (bill of lading numbers, invoices) with similar information in various programs for which verification is carried out. In addition, customs representatives do not fill in the necessary information about themselves, as well as about recipients and senders. Often the letter code of the recipient country is not indicated. Information about documents confirming data about goods can also be inaccurate. At the same time, there is too much information about the method of determining the customs value of goods not subject to export customs duty. Incorrect filling of the graphs and the presence of duplicate information also affect the automatic processing of declarations.
